Letter from Rabbi Chai Levy -

Dear Friend,

I'm thrilled that you're considering joining us. I look forward to sharing the beauty of Jewish life with you. There are so many ways to get involved; whether you're interested in Jewish study, ritual, social justice, or simply being part of an extended Jewish family, we warmly welcome you!

Netivot Shalom’s unique strength lies in our participatory ethos. We continue to live by our founding principles of participatory, egalitarian Judaism, where our members are empowered to take ownership over their Jewish lives and experiences and to create the community they desire for themselves. As rabbi, I serve to guide our community’s vision and direction so that our members can come together in shared purpose. It is also my privilege, as rabbi, to guide our members through life’s transitions and celebrations, whether it’s birth or death, illness or healing, b’nei mitzvah or wedding, and everything in between.

I look forward to getting to know you and to helping you find your place in our wonderful community. Wherever you might be on your Jewish journey, it is my hope that Netivot Shalom will be a warm home for you to deepen your Jewish life and to connect to others.

Rabbi Chai Levy

2024-2025 Standard Membership Categories and Pledges

Our standard membership pledges shown here are set so that we are able to meet our budgetary needs each year. We are not charging a separate building or security assessment this year, but encourage you to consider pledging more than the applicable amount in our Beyond Dues campaign. This will help others who cannot afford to pay their full dues assessment, and help us meet our budget goals.

NOTE: The following price chart is for new members only. New members pay one-half of regular dues for their first membership year. Once you determine the appropriate dues level, you will make your selection below.

1. One Adult Household (including children under the age of 25 living at home)

  • One adult, who has reached the age of 35 -- $1,950 - New Member price: $975

  • One adult, under the age of 35 -- $475 - New Member price: $237.50

  • One adult, who is a full-time student -- $200 - New Member price: $100

2. Two Adult Household (including children under the age of 25 living at home)

  • Two adults, at least one 35 years of age or older -- $3,900 - New Member price: $1,950

  • Two adults, both under 35 years of age -- $950 - New Member price: $475

  • Two adults, both of whom are full-time students -- $400 - New Member price: $200

3. Associate Membership (member of another synagogue)

  • One adult -- $975 - New Member price: $487.50

  • Two adults -- $1,950 - New Member price: $975

4. Out of Town Memberships -- $400 per adult - New Member price: $200 per adult
Out of town members are listed in the roster but do not receive High Holy Day passes unless they make special arrangements.

5. It’s Complicated
We know people often don’t fit neatly into categories. If your situation is not easily described by one of the categories listed above, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are eager to have you as members, and we consider special circumstances, as well as, financial hardships that require non-standard memberships. For more information, contact Executive Director, Ken Schnur at ken@netivotsalom.org or call (510) 549-9447 (press 2).

If you are unable to select a membership level that applies due to extenuating financial circumstances, you will need to complete this form: 2025-26 Dues Arrangement. Once your forms have been processed by the Netivot Shalom office, we will provide you with a digital Welcome Packet and be in touch to discuss the arrangements you have made.

Please note: All requests for dues adjustment and all information provided is kept strictly confidential.

Choose your membership level from the list below.
(Your selection will invoice your account.)

Beyond Dues is one of Netivot Shalom's main fundraising drives. We ask that those that can increase the amount of their membership pledge to help us meet our budgetary goals.

  • Netivot Shalom's operating budget is over $1.2 million per year.

  • Dues make up only about 60% of that. The rest comes from fees, rentals, grants and your donations.

  • It is important that as many of you as possible take part in this drive. If you can, please increase your membership pledge.

Setting up a payment Plan
Click on the field where it says "Pay this amount: Once Now". This will expand the options in the drop down menu, enabling you to select the frequency and start date of your payment plan. When selecting the number of payments, keep in mind that you will need to complete all your payments by June 30, 2026 (the end of our fiscal year).

Mail checks to:
Kesef at Congregation Netivot Shalom
P.O. Box 418
Montvale, NJ 07645

Please remember to notate in the check's memo line: Dues 2025-26.

To make dues payment easier in the future, you can rollover your dues pledge from year to year. You can do that by selecting one of the following options. If you choose to rollover your dues, your membership renewal will be automatic in the coming years. Of course, you can cancel at any time simply by letting us know.

By making this Dues Pledge, I acknowledge that I am assisting Congregation Netivot Shalom and our community to strive and grow, now and in the future.

Membership Dues and Beyond Dues Pledge: By choosing either the ATM/Debit card, credit card or eCheck payment option, I agree to allow Netivot Shalom to continue to charge my account on a monthly basis for my total pledge amount until I instruct them otherwise, and that my membership can be renewed from year to year without having to fill out a new form. I also understand that if the amount of the withdrawal changes (such as with a dues increase), my payment plan will be updated automatically. I understand that I can terminate this dues payment arrangement following completion of payment for the year by providing written notice to Netivot Shalom.

Membership Dues Only: By choosing either an ATM/Debit card, credit card or eCheck payment option, I agree to allow Netivot Shalom to continue to charge my account on a monthly basis for my membership pledge amount until I instruct them otherwise, and that my membership can be renewed from year to year without having to fill out a new form. I also understand that if the amount of the withdrawal changes (such as with a dues increase), my payment plan will be updated automatically. I understand that I can terminate this dues payment arrangement following completion of payment for the year by providing written notice to Netivot Shalom.

Neither of the above: My pledge is for the current fiscal year only. I understand I will have to fill out another Membership Renewal Pledge Form next year.

Please make your choices carefully. If you have made a mistake or have questions about Rollover Dues, please reach out to Mia for assistance at mia@netivotshalom.org.
