The Davening Task force of CNS’s Ritual Committee is offering a series of workshops to help prayer leaders hone prayer leadership skills such as: how to choose melodies, read the room, manage timing, and find emotional connection to the prayers and congregation, as well as some basics of singing. These workshops won’t focus on the technical skills of nusach, but rather on the “soft skills” of elevating the musicality, kavanah, and experience of communal prayer.

This will be an interactive workshop to focus on becoming increasingly comfortable with singing, davening and service-leading - through preparation, breathing and relaxation techniques, finding your emotional meanings in our prayers - to enhance singing and davening expressively while engaging with our congregation in prayer.
