What This Moment Is Calling Us To Do with Rabbi Allan Berkowitz
Monday, August 4, 2025 • 10 Av 5785
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMSanctuary/ZoomWhat This Moment Is Calling Us To Do:
Our country stands on the precipice of authoritarianism. Specific groups are being labeled ‘undesirable.’ People are being ‘disappeared’ without due process. Journalists, academicians, and elected officials are threatened with arrest. All of the above were steps initially taken by the Nazi regime and is the playbook being followed here and now. We Jews have always pointed a finger at the ‘German on the street’ for remaining silent as the Nazi regime unfolded.
What about us in this moment? Will we remain silent or will we exhibit the courage and moral clarity to act?
As Jews, do we have the right to demand that others defend us if we are not willing to defend others who are under assault?
Rabbi Allan Berkowitz will present his (provocative) perspectives on what this moment calls us to do. He will facilitate a conversation challenging us to clarify the values we hold and what putting those values into action might look like.
Zoom link will be released to all registrants on August 4 before 6pm.
Thank you.
